Blushing Beauty

Multipurpose cream products are both versatile and easy to apply, and I've been particularly drawn towards cream blushes and the way they can be blended with the fingers for a natural and effortless flush. This Australis Crème Colour in Flirtatious Pink caught my eye quite a while ago, though I only purchased it this week. Rather than being a disappointment or just another product to play around with (that I don't love, but also don't mind), I'm happy to report that it's exceeded my expectations.

The colour is a soft pink with peachy tones that is quite sheer. There's no risk of overdoing it at first instance and the application can be built up to your desired opacity. It is non-sticky and has a subtle dewy finish which gives a natural, earthy warmth to the cheeks. The product contains lavender oil, which I personally love, but those with an aversion to lavender probably wouldn't be so enthusiastic. It is reminiscent of one of my most beloved products, Bloom Sheer Colour Cream in the now discontinued Dewy, which was also scented with lavender.

The Crème Colour can be used on the lips, though I would primarily use it as a cream blush (and pick one of my pink lipsticks for the lips instead). The plastic tin is ideal for chucking into your bag and for touching up on the go to instantly enliven and freshen up the face. At $9.95 for 4.5g of product, it's undoubtedly one of the better beauty buys I've made.

  1. I have this and quite like it, but the lavender scent keeps me from putting it on my lips.

  3. I'm loving the look of this! With the RT Stippling Brush on the way over, I think I might pick this up in the next Australis sale! Much more accessible than NYX cream blushes, which I've just about given up on finding- do you think they're comparable? Which do you prefer? x

    1. I have to say I prefer the NYX, it is a lot more creamy and soft in texture, almost a touch oily. Easier to blend and more pigmented. It's a brighter pink as well. The Australis is slightly chalkier, harder in texture, looks earthier on the skin. It's also scented with lavender (the NYX is without scent). I liked the Australis before I discovered the NYX but now the NYX is my preferred choice :) But this one isn't a bad choice if you want to try a cream blush.
