l-r: Guava, Jasmine, Mango, Pomegranate, Wild Rose
l-r (first row, then second row): Jasmine, Mango, Pomegranate, Wild Rose
Pomegranate on cheeks (with NYX Taupe as contour)
Out of the ones I have, I find Jasmine to clearly be the most moisturising and buttery. Pomegranate and Wild Rose, in comparison, are slightly less emollient, though much more pigmented. Guava and Jasmine appear more or less the same on my lips, with Guava having more of a whitish tint and Jasmine more of a pinkish nude. Mango and Pomegranate are also very similar when applied, with Mango more a straightforward orange (like Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti) and Pomegranate more red/coral. Wild Rose is the darkest colour, a blue-toned berry red which for me, is a bit too heavy for daytime wear. I prefer this blotted on my lips, or as a cheek tint.
What I love about these Korres Lip Butters is the darker colours can be substituted for cream blush. I thought I was the only weird one that used them for that purpose, but when I inspected more closely the packaging on the Lip Saver set, there was an actual note on there that they could be used on the cheeks for a natural tint. I've dabbed and blended Pomegranate on the apples of my cheeks to freshen up and add some colour to my face many nights when I've been out but didn't have anything else in my bag. A small amount goes a long way and properly blended in, doesn't feel noticeably sticky or greasy.
Each pot has its own distinctive scent matching its name. Guava reminds me a bit of the scent of preserved plums. Jasmine doesn't really smell like anything particular to me, it's sweet in a milk candy kind of way. Pomegranate is quite tart, but also mellow. Wild Rose is the most unique in that it's neither sweet nor fruity. It has this understated, slightly musky rose scent without being syrupy sweet or artificial.
Bit of trivia. Cameron Diaz uses the Korres Lip Butter while talking to herself in an aeroplane toilet in Knight and Day. I'm sure that couldn't possibly be intentional product placement, so I'm choosing to think that Cameron Diaz had that in her purse and did a bit of improv.
These look great, though I probably have enough lip products to last me a lifetime! I'm going to have to resist running out and purchasing these.

Aren't Korres a Greek brand? If so, I'm searching high and low for these babies when I go to Greece on Tuesday! :D Lovely post! xx

These are cute, not of a huge lip balm/butter person but I love the packaging!
ReplyDeleteCameron Diaz has good taste in lip products :) I have Jasmine (and a backup of it) as well as some of their liquid lipsticks, but I wear Jasmine to bed each night and love the sweet milky scent :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love the bit about Cameron Diaz.
ReplyDeleteI love that you use it as a blush too :) I'm yet to try these but so many people sing their praises :)
xoxo
I have Mango, Pomegranate and Quince and I absolutely love them! I've had mine for about 3 weeks now and I've already almost finished them!
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing! Every time I read your blog I come away with more added to my shopping list! ;)
ReplyDeleteS xx
Love these- may just pick up the other Lip Saver set for Mango and Guava... Haha love a bit of trivia. Jasmine smells divine but Pomegranate is definitely my favourite colour-wise. :) I haven't tried using them as a cream blush! Might give that a go when I'm bored or out without much else on hand. :) x
ReplyDeleteOMG!! you have so many!! jealous T.T
ReplyDeleteI have only Pomegranate and I'm in huge love. with the color, with the texture, the scent, the moisture it gives, everything.
Reading this post, I'm thinking of getting another flavour as well! lol
you are very convincing at describing great products :-D
OMMGG! I recently heard about these to and just HAD to have them. I just got my first one (Jasmine) from Sephora yesterday. I`m in love that`s all I can say! I had been stalking Winners (a discount department store) for a while because a couple Canadian bloggers found a 3 pack of Korres butters for only $6.99 but I didn`t have such luck. I love the packaging so much, the look and texture. I can`t wait to get more. I`ll be doing a haul featuring mine soon!:)
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches! Really tempted to pick up pomegranate c:

Omg I have never used mine as a blush :) may have to try it out!
ReplyDeleteThese look so pretty and buttery! Fall is almost here in Canada and my lips are screaming for moisture. Great idea to apply them as blush as well. I have tried the Korres blush in store and they are amazing. Think they are very similar in texture.
ReplyDeleteI got one on my birthday and have been trying to grow my collection since, I recently ordered some of these on strawberry net too, not the 3 pack (cos i already got Mango) but in a few gift sets they are still doing. Also i noticed that KIT cosmetics sells these too :) Their awesome
ReplyDeleteI strongly dislike them. They made my lips dryer than the Sahara desert.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your collection, I love these lip butters! Pomegranate is my favourite :)

ReplyDelete~ Yun
Oooh wow love your collection. I hope I find them in my country soon :)
ReplyDeleteSeems like an amazing product but, the fact that you have to dip your finger into the product turns me off, among other things this is why I didn't like The Body Shop lip butters. Having said that, I'm happy that you like them and that's a nice collection you have going on there ^^ xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love these! Awesome that CD uses them (we like to think)... x
ReplyDeleteI find Korres such an amazing brand, I've heard many good reviews about it that Im definitely getting something soon!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog xx
Flo
i love the wild rose color on your lips!
ReplyDeleteand it is so neat the darker colors double as cheek colors! it looks very pretty! (and i love your eye makeup, too. ^-^)
Ahh, yet another item I am reminded I need to place on my ever growing wish list.

I didn't know they can be used as a cheek tint :o
ReplyDeleteI've had the Jasmine lip butter on my fantasy beauty product wishlist for what feels like forever, but I can never find them at a decent enough price in the UK, boo! I think I might be able to justify a mini-splurge on one now that I know they can be used as a cheek tint, though ha xx
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting these for so long! Love how Pomegranate looks on your lips AND your cheeks! I might snatch one (or two) up soon even though I have so many lip balms to go through. x___x
ReplyDeleteI have pomegranate but definitely want wild rose too now!!! :)
ReplyDeletegreat idea to use it on the cheeks too, need to try it!
They look amazing! The swatches are beautiful and the effect on your lips too!
ReplyDeleteX
Helpful swatches! Jasmine has been on my list for ages.
ReplyDeletepomegranate is really pretty! btw, you've got beautiful lips.
ReplyDeletehttp://redberryaha.blogspot.com
they seem amazing! xx following
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Korres! You make me want to now though!
ReplyDeleteI think you have officially gotten me sold on these little pots of goodness! They look gorgeous and I love it when a product has multiple uses, these look great on both the cheeks and the lips! Btw, how are you liking NYX Taupe as contouring, I remember you mentioning about not being able to contour well for your cheeks...did it make contouring easier?! I think it looks great on you! :)
ReplyDeleteLol I was going to make a post about NYX Taupe, which is why I did my laughable attempt at "contouring" here (because I did it before I put on the Korres). I don't think it really does anything in terms of slimming down my face because my face is so large and flat, and the natural hollows (as faint as they are) don't exactly correspond with where I guess I'm supposed to be placing the bronzer/contour shade, so I can only conclude my face isn't designed for "contouring" :P But I try! I'm pleased it's not really ashy on me, though to be honest I think I prefer the bronzer in my Napoleon Perdis contour palette.
DeleteI have three of these (mango, pomegranate, and rose) and I love them so much! I really want the Jasmine one...I love how moisturizing they are!
ReplyDeleteJasmine and wild rose for me! I know where to get them in singapore and I think i deserve one about now! :) Great pics!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! I have wanted the shade "Quince" (though I'm loving Pomegranate a lot more now too) for quite a while but after reading this review I will definitely be picking it up next time I am out. They are pretty cheap too considering you can use them as a good cheap colour too. Love the review :)
ReplyDeletewww.rosydisposition.com
Also the price as just gone down to $16 at Mecca, when they reduced their prices on a lot of other products. I know ASOS is still cheaper but an extra five bucks isn't so bad when you can go in and play to find they ones you like most.
