Gold-Plated

My eyes haven't witnessed a more opulent polish than OPI GoldenEye. This is the one gold polish to rule them all. It's the kind of gold that decorates palaces and imperial costumes. It's hard to believe that the end result is just from three coats of the stuff. I've come across my share of metallic and foil polishes, but GoldenEye is in its own league. What impresses me most is that it's not frosty in any way. Against the light, it shines gold. Not silver, taupe, white or pewter. Just an amped up, dazzling gold. It doesn't look overly yellow (if anything, it's infused with a touch of orange) and isn't too light. There's a depth and luxury to it, despite how potentially gaudy and tacky a super shiny gold could be. It's here, just in time for the holiday season.

  4. Ah i saw this in real life yesteday and I want it as well! I want this more than the gold flakie top coat. The concept and result looks interesting but I don't think it's worth the $40 price tag =/

  8. Loved the LOTR reference. I'm not really into nails (if you couldn't tell haha) but this is stunning. The whole collection's concept is so timely and appropriate. The composition of the polish is superb- I love that it's not frosty!

  10. OHMYYGAWWDDD THIS. is exactly what i've been looking for!!! Every other "gold" polish out there that I've seen is everything but perfect gold like you've mentioned - either too frosty, too yellow, too light etc etc etc... I've been refraining myself from buying nail polish for quite some time now because I feel like I don't use the existing ones enough, but I think this worth breaking the streak. Perfect gold, too pretty to resist! :P

  11. This looks fantastic! I'm very hesitant towards gold polishes, but this one really does work. I have tried and reviewed The Living Daylights from the Skyfall collection if you want to check it out. I may have to get a few more from this collection.

    1. That's exactly how I'd describe it! It's not so much a liquid coating, it really is like minute gold plates layered over the nail.

    1. I dunno, it's not a chunky glitter so I think it shouldn't be too bad. I'm really liking the staying power of this - it's been several days and no chips (touch wood) :)
