I don't know whether it's possible to feel affection for a makeup brush, but I do for the Powder Pouf. I almost don't want to use it for fear of tainting its pristine state. The pastel pink, the tiny removable black bow, the smooth, rounded handle, the fluffy, touchably soft "Teddy Bear Hair" bristles. It's just too precious. It might not live up to the brilliantly functional Real Techniques Buffing Brush, which I use almost every day and is still the best brush ever, but it's a delight to simply have in my collection and look at. The bristles are longer and not as dense as the Buffing Brush, making it better suited for loose or compact powders rather than blending any creams or liquids. The dark tips helpfully let you to see just how much product you have on your brush. I bought mine for just under $35 from Beauty Bay.

You Furry Thing
This Too Faced Powder Pouf brush has been on my wishlist forever, but the hefty price tag always put me off. It currently retails for $47.95 at Kit, which I think is actually a reduced price as I remember it being more expensive in the middle of last year. The thought that I could buy two Real Techniques brush sets over this single brush made me question whether it was really value for money. Even if it is overpriced for what it is, something about the girly and adorable design and luxuriously soft bristles proved irresistible. After months of contemplation and hesitation, I finally caved.

Oh girls and their love for pretty things. Haha . Anyway, how are the ecotools brushes? Are they any good.
ReplyDeleteAll of my brushes are ecotools brushes and I swear by them. I can't tell you how they stand up to Sigma or Mac brushes, but for how inexpensive they are and how available they are, they are surely worth it. I've only had one problem with a large, fluffy blending brush after washing, but I think it was my fault. They are really soft, synthetic and made out of recycled materials and bamboo. I'm a huge fan of ecotools!
DeleteThey're really good brushes. Inexpensive, good quality and soft. Love the blush brush in particular :)
DeleteI wouldn't be able to bring myself to use it! I'll probably just feel it's hairs all day and use it as decor. It looks so cute and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteIt loos absolutely adorable! I bet it feels amazing just to brush all over your face, haha.
ReplyDeleteGahh I wouldn't be able to use this either!! It's so adorable though I would probably never be able to fork over so much money for a single brush :(

I'm glad you got it cheaper off BeautyBay! :) That is one adorable brush, the design is just so cute. I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of it, so in the long run I guess the price isn't too bad :P xx
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, though I'm not convinced I could justify spending so much for a brush! I think I would prefer to splash out on makeup. Not that I actually need any more, of course.

I get attached to everything, new make-up items quickly get referred to as 'my baby.'
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute brush :)
xoxo
The design of this is too cute :) I love the bow as well, so girly.

Wagh it reminds me of how I got my MAC 130 :) It's my baby. My sephora brush set? I love them, but they can be easily replaced within a few years, for about 20 USD for the most expensive piece. My Suki brush roll? Naw, it's just some budget stuff that I got that works good. But MAC 130? A price well paid. My policy is, "If you skimp on your "clean work", (ie. your foundation, concealer, your skin basically), then everything else will look off-kilter." Defs going to check out this Too Faced brush now!! xx
ReplyDeleteAwww I think I want this *___*
ReplyDeleteohhh this bow is sooo cute!:)
ReplyDeleteYep, I definitely wouldn't have wanted to use it either. The brush is adorable and I think I may have started to develop feelings for it as well haha! x
ReplyDeleteaww, i love the handle it is just too cute to resist~ ^_~
ReplyDeleteI bought a miniature retractable Powder Pouf brush on sale from Kit last week and it's so tiny it's not really good for anything. I'm not sure what I was thinking, buying such a tiny brush, but the Teddy Bear bristles are lovely. This is such a beautiful brush! I love the design- as impractical as mine is, I can't bring myself to throw it out because it's so adorable!
ReplyDeleteWas that the $10 one? I SO wanted to get that but it was sold out at the Kit in the city :( Such a great little brush to throw around in your handbag if you wanted to carry around a powder blush, or even blend in a cream blush I guess!
DeleteYes, the $10 one! It had the most adorable little bow on, and it was a gorgeous shade of pink. I've found it to be decent for sweeping powder onto concealed areas, a bit like the RT Setting Brush. :)
DeleteI've never seen a prettier brush before!
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty collection...... <3... u r lucky enough.... i really don't have so much fluffy brushes....
ReplyDeletegod this brush is seriously just stunning, i can completely understand why you have fallen in love with it, because i am beginning to as well. i can also understand not wanting to use it for fear of tainting it! your makeup set also looks so pretty from what i can see in the last photo. :)

That is a gorgeous brush and I see why you were so torn! But eh, what's life if we don't treat ourselves once in a while? And you managed to find it cheaper so that's even better! It steals the show placed with your Eco Tools! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty!! Times like this I wish I had a job!xx

Aw that is gorgeous! I definitely think I'll be adding one to my collection :)

I want to see more of your brush collection! That bow on the brush is really way too cute.
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable brush! Definitely putting that on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely looking brush and an interesting post to read - I used to feel deeply for my brushes, but now they just seem to lurk around my vanity lol. Do share more of your brushes!
ReplyDeleteyour newest follower by the way :)

What a gorgeous brush!
ReplyDeleteIt's the prettiest little brush I've ever seen. I hope it works well too :)
ReplyDeleteI feel actual love rather than affection for my makeup + brush collection, and such a fine "collector's" piece as that gorgeous brush would have a very special place in my heart too if I could afford to have it ^^ xx
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand!! beauty is really irresistible.. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI've been really into beauty blender recently, and all my foundation brushes are a lil bit forgotten now ;p
I've yet to try the Beautyblender - but that also has been on my wishlist for even longer than this brush!
Deletesuch a cute brush! The soft pink and the ever-so-cute bow. I would feel the same about not wanting to use it in fear of ruining its "cuteness".
ReplyDeleteIt's a totally adorable brush, for sure! I can see why you finally caved. And even if you don't end up using it a lot, it's still super cute to look at. :-)
ReplyDelete~ Yun
I understand how you feel about this brush. I have the same feelings for my NARS Yachiyo!!
ReplyDeletehttp://mymakeupcompulsion.blogspot.com.es/
oh that brush is definitely a looker! it is really pretty, but for myself, i dont think i can justify the hefty price tag, considering im not a huge powder user for everyday
ReplyDeletethe brush would defs last a really long time, and its good that you invested in it :D
"Teddy Bear Hair"? A teddy bear logo? Way to cute to handle!
ReplyDeleteThe brush is sooooo sweet:)

That brush is absolutely adorable! The bow is the perfect touch. I totally know what you mean about just liking looking at it in your collection - I bought a ton of those Tokidoki brushes because they were so cute, and haven't used them to this day. It's been over two years and I'm happy just looking at them, haha!
ReplyDeleteOh my.. I want this brush in my collection. :D
ReplyDeleteEek! I love makeup brushes, I think they might be the most elegant part of make up!! but the beautiful and nice soft ones are always the most expensive :( Love too faced packaging though!

The pink, the bow, the cursive font... and the Teddy Bear hair? The marketing really makes this brush irresistible.

This brush is too cute, seeing it makes me want to get angry with my brushes by ugly :( LOL I don't blame you for not wanting to use it, Tedy bear hair! so cuteee <3 but expensive too.
ReplyDeletethe brush looks really cute!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask where you got your lipstick holder? I need one for myself!
ReplyDeleteThe brush looks so soft and I can definitely emphathise with you when you say you don't really want to use it in fear that it'll get dirty. I recently bought a similar blush brush and I actually prefer staring at its prettiness.
Target from memory! It was cheap, definitely under $10 :)
DeleteToo Faced brushes are always so cute! They're actually pretty decent quality, but I know what you mean about not wanting to use them... hehe~ I really need to look into Real Techniques brushes. I keep hearing great stuff about the brushes.
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely must, you will not be disappointed. They are by far the best brushes I've used and take up the majority of my brush collection. I don't feel the need to really go out and buy other brushes (with the exception of this one, only because I'm a sucker for the packaging and the soft bristles) because the RT ones I have are already so functional and serve all my needs completely.
DeleteThe bow makes the brush look extra adorable :')
ReplyDeleteI didn't think it was physically possible for a make up brush to actually be adorable, but clearly it is! Not sure I could justify the price tag, as it's taken me up til now to finally allow myself to invest in the Real Techniques core collection ha xx
ReplyDeleteThis brush begins to think that part of my wish list is so beautiful. And it really looks nice and fluffy. I love and really is one of those things that must be kawaii they are not only beautiful but also useful.
ReplyDeleteOMG that is sooo cute. So adorable that if I had it, I'd probably frame it lol.

This is such a pretty brush! No wonder you couldn't resist in the end... now I want to have it! I love the little cute black bow and its bristles look so soft and teddy bear hairs? Adorable!
ReplyDeleteLovely indeed :)
ReplyDeleteAh this is so cute, I love the bow! But I also have the RT buffing brush which is really good, glad to find out how this compares to that! x
ReplyDeletei'm so jealous! i've been wanting to get that brush for sooo long, but i just can't get myself to buy it. it's abit pricey for me, but i know it's definitely worth the splurge :) i love the colour so much and the whole design, it's soooo pretty! and i can totally understand when you said you almost don't want to use it, i would feel the same thing, it's looks too perfect to use!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a beautiful day ~ xo
