My bag contained 20 items housed in a Models Prefer black patent mock croc tote. There’s all the skin care I need for the next couple of years in here. Body lotion, hand cream, face cream, face treatments, face masks, face mist, blemish sticks, cleanser, facial towelettes, perfumed deodorant and sunscreen. Granted, I probably wouldn’t actively go out and buy any of the contents (except maybe the Avene Thermal Spring Water), but I guess that’s the appeal of a freebie bag: being able to sample so many full-sized products that I normally wouldn’t purchase.
Here’s what’s inside (and my thoughts on a few):
Apivita Express Beauty Mask With Carrot
Avene Thermal Spring Water (50ml)
It’s really just water (and nitrogen) in a can, but somehow I kind of love it. Spritzed on, it feels genuinely refreshing and calming, and adds a touch of dewiness to the skin if used as a makeup setting spray. The nozzle is a thing of wonder because it disperses a truly fine mist.
Biore Clean Things Up Gel Cleanser
Dove Silky Nourishment Body Cream
Innoxa SOS Skin Tissue Oil Aerosol
This is an oil in an aerosol that you can use on either your face or body. It claims to moisturise dry skin and minimise scarring, stretch marks, wrinkles and uneven skin tone. I’m not convinced about rubbing oil into my face, but it doesn’t seem any greasier than a rich cream, so we’ll see how it goes.
Neutrogena Ultimate Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+
Pleased about the inclusion of this because I’m lacking a good sunscreen. It’s something that I usually neglect as an individual step (relying instead on the SPF in my day cream), because sunscreens I’ve tried are usually greasy, chalky and leave a white cast. But this one feels light and non-greasy, like I could substitute it for my daily moisturiser.
Nivea Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream
Pretty standard hand cream infused with the Nivea Crème smell, which I find unpleasantly pungent and overpowering.
OXY Emergency Zit Blitz Gel
I just realised it says at the top “engineered for male skin”. You’re supposed to apply the gel directly from the tube at the first sign of a spot appearing. I've been having minor breakouts fairly consistently, so I'm curious to see if this will work the next time I get a pimple (which can't be too far off).
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Fragrance Free Body Lotion
I wouldn’t say this is completely fragrance free, it smells like a much lighter version of the rich, buttery and chocolatey original. I don’t mind the scent of the normal one, but this fragrance-free version seems a bit fresher and lighter.
Playboy Play It Rock Body Spray
Not a fan of the scent. I sprayed it on my hand to test it and then wished I hadn't.
Pure Therapy Intensive Moisture Repair Gel
Not sure how much use I’d get from this as it’s a treatment for those with very dry and flaky skin.
Puretopia Glowingly Smooth Body Polish
Softlips Vanilla SPF 20
Skinvitals Hydraflex Flex-Cloth Face Mask
Sukin Facial Moisturiser (125ml)
I have a 50ml bottle which was another freebie. Wish it had SPF because then I could use it as my daily moisturiser. Otherwise, I sometimes use this at night, but it’s not my preferred choice. I like the feeling of my skin drinking up moisture from my cream (especially in winter), but this is quite watery and light.
U Little Beauty Hand Cream
Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh SPF 15 Daily Light Lotion
Witch Blemish Stick
Same purpose as the OXY Emergency Zit Blitz Gel but in the form of a stick rather than a gel, and with witch hazel.
Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes
I’ve heard good things about these towelettes and they’re also an Allure Best of Beauty 2011 Award winner, so I’m looking forward to trying them out.
wow you got a lot of goodies in that bag! the black bag isn't bad either, it looks actually pretty nice!
ReplyDeleteI also like avene thermal spring water, and I don't really care if it contains only water because it is really refreshing esp in summer.
I'm really stockpiling on my free Priceline bags, lol. I think I prefer the snakeskin one from the beauty bag, only because this mock croc patent one is thicker and stiffer and not as easy to carry. I really am loving the Avene, I don't care if it's just water - it is just super refreshing (even though that's probably be the case if I were just spraying water on my face LOL).
Deleteso many great products :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a good deal, right! I was really happy with it! :) xx
ReplyDeleteI remember the yes to carrots night cream making my face feel like it was burning haha, but i would love to try their cucumber range. lots of nice goodies here! x
ReplyDeleteOh no, that's terrible :S It's unfortunate how we can experience unexpected adverse reactions to certain products :(
DeleteWhat a sweet deal! That's a lot of freebies!
ReplyDeleteOh wow this looks lovely. I must go into Priceline and have a look :)
ReplyDeletehttp://dawndugong.blogspot.com
So many things!! :)
ReplyDeleteWoah, this does look like good value. I've been wanting to try that Avene spray, but I know I will barely touch the rest. x
ReplyDeleteWhat does "engineered for male skin" even mean?! Really OXY? Really? It's so funny the way cosmetics, skincare and haircare companies market their products to men. I find it's always a little awkward. Like they have to throw in the least flowery words they can come up with. Case and point - "engineered"!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, you got a few goodin's in there! The Avene spray, Aptiva masks, Yes To Cucumbers Towelettes and Palmers Body Lotion particularly strike my fancy. Would you say the latter is as moisturising as the original lotion? I love how effective the original is, but sometimes I don't feel like the rich, cocoa smell.
I know aye, makes it sound soooo scientific :p It would be quite funny to more closely investigate all the buzz words and terms that are used to market and sell beauty products. Reminds me of one of my favourite programmes, The Gruen Transfer (or is it called Planet now? Lol).
DeleteI'm quite looking forward to trying the Aptiva masks and the towelettes :) I already really like the Avene spray, even if it's a total con job haha. I think that the original is maybe a bit richer and thicker, but the difference isn't huge. I guess this fragrance free one would be ideal for those times you don't want to be overpowered by the scent/richness of the original Palmer's.
I'm not usually tempted by skincare, but you received so many goodies in this bag. :) I think the best inclusions are the Avene thermal spring water (I want to try that, I've been looking for something similar/a makeup setting spray!) And the Neutrogena sunscreen. I normally use the Neutrogena Dry-Touch sunscreen and it's the best I've used so far, so hopefully the one you got is lovely too! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not either! I'm usually pretty disinterested in skin care, but I figured this deal would be a good way for me to get more into it. I do like the Avene, even if it's just water, and I'm happy about the Neutrogena since it seems like a good quality product and I do neglect my sunscreen if it's not in my day cream. I also have the Neutrogena sunscreen in a spray can, I really should use it because I'm pretty sure it's expired or close to expired by now :p
DeleteLooks like a great bag full of goodies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog. I'd love if we'd follow each other :)
xo,

This is so great! I looked at your other post about these beauty bags, and I'll just say it again... I'm jealous! Here in the States the pharmacy's don't really run promotions with so many different branded items, if anything its just one brand.
ReplyDelete<3 Rubiiee
oh my so many goodies!
ReplyDeletei love avene spray myself and i always keep one on my vanity. it works as toner in my morning routine and it is also great for soothing after epilating.
i wish we had some promotion like this here in the us. ;-/ i would spend $50 in a heart beat.
I'm sure your $50 would be better spent on other goodies, it's only because everything is so marked up in Australia that this offer seems like a good deal (they say that the contents add up to $220 RRP! I totally wouldn't pay that much for what's inside, lol). I've not tried the Avene for toning, but I did spray it after hair removal and it worked a treat, very calming and soothing :)
DeleteWow that's a cool haul there! Have heard so many good things about the Yes To range, really want to try them out x
ReplyDeletehttp://wewereraisedbywolves.blogspot.co.uk/
i see a bunch of my fav products!! you are in good beauty hands!!
ReplyDeletewww.trendinginfashion.blogspot.com
WOW, 20 products! I wish they did deals like this over here!!! So good!
ReplyDeleteI was worried about using oil on my face, and my skin really likes it, I've never heard of that one, but I'm sure it will be great :) Here's hoping :)
xoxo
I guess I've used oil in terms of makeup remover, so hopefully this skin tissue one won't give me any breakouts or anything :p I guess there's only one way to find out ... hehe. Otherwise I'll just use it on my body :)
DeleteWow. A huge set of face products. Sounds cool! ^^
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome! I think the bag is cute. And i used to always have one of the Avene sprays with me back in germany. It was great in summer for the office (i had a big bottle) & always one in the purse. Haven't found it in the states yet though, i would def get it again.
ReplyDeleteOh really? I'm sure you can find it somewhere in the States. Hopefully you do! I'm currently carrying the 50ml in my handbag at the moment, it's nice to be able to spritz it during the day for a pick-me-up in the office :)
Deleteamazing blog!so interesting posts!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got some amazing freebies! :) x
ReplyDeleteThis is tempting! I have no idea which products I would buy to make up the $50 worth of skincare products, but the deal looks great! I'd really like to try the Avene Thermal Spring Water (as a setting spray, most likely), and the Neutrogena Sunscreen- I've been fairly disgraceful in the sunscreen aspect of my routine. Which products did you buy to comprise the $50? With your disinterest in skincare, I'm interested to see what you bought!
ReplyDeleteI bought the Dove foaming makeup remover (I like it, but not around the eyes as it stings horribly), another Avene 50ml spray, Sukin Purifying Facial Masque, Biore serum (and I received some free Biore 4-in-1 cleanser as part of a separate promotion) and a small Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion because I needed to spend like $1.5 more to get the bag, lol. I didn't take too long to decide on my products which surprised me - though I was tossing up between getting an Avene moisturiser/serum and/or $5 Nivea cleanser/toner rather than what I settled for. I haven't tried the Sukin mask but I'm looking forward to it :)
Deletewow that's a LOT of great things to use/try! envy ><
ReplyDeleteWow - that's a lot of skin products! It sounds like you got a great variety of products to use and a nice new bag to house it all in :)
ReplyDeletenice bag and skin products dear!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh I got this deal too!! I'm so happy with Priceline's goodie bags they've been doing!!
ReplyDeletePlease forgive my shameless plug, but I also blogged about it here: coffeefashionlaughterlove.blogspot.com =)
xx
Me too, especially as I'd always looked forward to their beauty one. It's pretty generous and unexpected that they've expanded to hair and skin care :) Guess it keeps the business coming lol. I think I'm addicted to Priceline, it's really bad :p And I really enjoyed reading your own Priceline Skincare Goodie Bag post, no need to apologise for the link :)
DeleteThe bag of goodies looks awesome! I heard that the soft lips lip balms were really good and about the Avene Spring Water too. I think mists in general tend to feel really good and refreshing XD Cause my toner is in a spritz bottle and I've also used the Urban Decay De Slick setting spray...no matter what they are, they always feel refreshing on my face hahaha :3
ReplyDeleteI think I've tried Soft Lips in the past, but it was a few years ago. I remember really liking them. I'm a sucker for anything minty in my lip balms anyway. You are totally right about mists in general feeling refreshing - considering the Avene is LITERALLY just water in a can, I think I'm just paying for like, high quality water and a really good nozzle? :p Lol!
DeleteGreat post:so many amazing beauty products all together!
ReplyDeleteWhat about following each other? Cosa mi metto???
