Purple Persuasion

It's been a while since I bought Revlon Scandalous (761), and though I painted one nail in a previous post, I didn't get around to wearing it on both hands until just last week. I have to say the result exceeded my expectations, and then some. I love this polish. I didn't want to take it off. I kept admiring how it perfect it was in ways that I couldn't have anticipated just looking at the bottle, or painting a single nail. The blackish-purple base is dark enough to add drama and contrast, but somehow has enough body and depth so it's not dull and flat. The dense fuchsia glitter is sandwiched and set in the polish itself, almost giving a gradient effect as the glitter becomes marginally less concentrated at the tip of the nail. It's vital you paint a top coat (as I've done here with my now beloved Sally Hansen Insta-Dri), as it prolongs wear time and makes everything smooth and shiny. And with a polish as special as this one, you'd want to make it last.

    1. It is! No base coat, it's all the polish. I think this was 3 coats, but 2 is enough :)

  10. It looks fantastic on you! I bought this a little while ago and tried it once and LOVED it. The polish only takes 2 coats to have great coverage. It was a bit of a pain to take off, but well worth it for the look.

  18. So what's on your nails is ONLY Scandalous? Wow all this time I thought it required a separate base color, so impressive :o

    1. Yes! Only Scandalous! I thought it was pretty incredible the first time I saw this polish on another blog, I also was under the impression a separate base coat was used. But nope, this polish is just awesome that way :)

  19. i own this in the pink glitter and i find it to be not dense enough... maybe this shade is denser? layering on top of black nails is a great idea though!

  25. You pick up the BEST glitter colors. I need to stop being a nail polish snob (honestly more so because of my slight OCD) so I can get in on these beautiful colors! :) Thanks for sharing!

  27. I love Revlon nail polishes. Aside from Zoya, they seem to stay the longest on my nails. I'm really like this look - fun, but also proper and sophisticated at the same time. Must be the purple!

  37. This polish looks so good. When I first looked at the photo, I thought it was 2 polishes layered together. Hope I can find this where I live.

I fell in love with lip scrubs after I have tried it. I like how the Nature Republic one comes in a tube since I am not a big fan of potted lip products.
