It's been a while since I bought Revlon Scandalous (761), and though I painted one nail in a previous post, I didn't get around to wearing it on both hands until just last week. I have to say the result exceeded my expectations, and then some. I love this polish. I didn't want to take it off. I kept admiring how it perfect it was in ways that I couldn't have anticipated just looking at the bottle, or painting a single nail. The blackish-purple base is dark enough to add drama and contrast, but somehow has enough body and depth so it's not dull and flat. The dense fuchsia glitter is sandwiched and set in the polish itself, almost giving a gradient effect as the glitter becomes marginally less concentrated at the tip of the nail. It's vital you paint a top coat (as I've done here with my now beloved Sally Hansen Insta-Dri), as it prolongs wear time and makes everything smooth and shiny. And with a polish as special as this one, you'd want to make it last.
my sister wanted this nail polish and it looked awful when we tried it but it looks really nice on your nails, might have to purchase it!xx

Wow - thats actually really pretty! Revlon are Killing it with their nailpolishes atm, my favourite nailpolish is a revlon one!
ReplyDeleteOh, I got this one... it's very pretty but it's actually called Facets of Fuchsia in Uk hehe :)
ReplyDeleteOh god...must...have...it!....How many coats is this? The opaqueness of this while still having the glitter stand out is so impressive!
ReplyDeleteLove Courtney from Strawberree Swing
It is! No base coat, it's all the polish. I think this was 3 coats, but 2 is enough :)
DeleteWow, so pretty! didn't realise how nice this colour is~ I just came back from shopping and i wished that i saw this post sooner because i would have purchased this! I love revlon nail polishes :) x

It looks fantastic on you! I bought this a little while ago and tried it once and LOVED it. The polish only takes 2 coats to have great coverage. It was a bit of a pain to take off, but well worth it for the look.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool look! Love the fuchsia glitters!

This is a fantastic polish. I don't wear it enough and I should!
ReplyDeleteI am the same - ever since I bought this I haven't had the chance to wear it on both hands yet and seeing your post just makes me want to put it on right now haha :P
ReplyDeleteWow! this is amazing! It reminds me of a night sky....if stars were purple :P
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome :) Such complimenting colours and you can't beat glitter!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
I love this polish! For some reason it's named Facets Of Fuschia in the UK, so pretty :)

Very pretty! Those polishes with the big glitter pieces look so awesome on black polish!
ReplyDeleteSo what's on your nails is ONLY Scandalous? Wow all this time I thought it required a separate base color, so impressive :o
ReplyDeleteYes! Only Scandalous! I thought it was pretty incredible the first time I saw this polish on another blog, I also was under the impression a separate base coat was used. But nope, this polish is just awesome that way :)
Deletei own this in the pink glitter and i find it to be not dense enough... maybe this shade is denser? layering on top of black nails is a great idea though!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, amazing color! I'll have to look out for this next time I'm out.
ReplyDeleteLa la la LOVE it! <3 What base coat/top coat do you use?
ReplyDeleteBase coat is Sally Hansen Maximum Growth (though it's not really a base coat), top coat is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat (my absolute favourite!) :)
Deleteyo i got this also a few weeks back - not yet got aroudn to wear it... it is literally the dupe for a deborah lippmann polish (according to some blogers)... looks so so good on you - i need to wear it asap! :P
ReplyDeletecheers,
jacq
Wow this polish looks beautiful! I like the contrast of the purple on black.
ReplyDeleteThis polish is so cool! I should probably refrain from buying it though because all I'll do is stare at my nails all day :D love your blog xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am in love. <3
ReplyDeleteYou pick up the BEST glitter colors. I need to stop being a nail polish snob (honestly more so because of my slight OCD) so I can get in on these beautiful colors! :) Thanks for sharing!

This has just earnt itself a spot on my wish list! xo
ReplyDeleteI love Revlon nail polishes. Aside from Zoya, they seem to stay the longest on my nails. I'm really like this look - fun, but also proper and sophisticated at the same time. Must be the purple!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this looks absolutely amazing. Honestly, as soon as I saw it I was wishing that it was mine! :)

ReplyDeleteI'd been admiring this polish from afar a long time now. Again, it looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this nail polish! However, I hate removing it! It's such a pain!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteOh God, incredible nailpolish ! I'm in love with the first picture *_* Kiss x

This is a really nice nail polish! I should head out to the shops and buy it haha
ReplyDeleteThis polish looks so good. When I first looked at the photo, I thought it was 2 polishes layered together. Hope I can find this where I live.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with lip scrubs after I have tried it. I like how the Nature Republic one comes in a tube since I am not a big fan of potted lip products.
