Confetti Sprinkles

I popped into Sportsgirl the other day, not really expecting to buy anything, and I noticed a new glitter polish on display. (I also may have spotted a few new Pout About It lipstick shades and I may have bought another pink lipstick but the thought is enough to trigger another bout of self-flagellation that I'll stop there.) Sportsgirl All That Glitters (gold hex glitter suspended in a clear base) has been a huge hit for me, so I didn't hesitate to try this new one out. 100's and 1000's consists of red, silver, gold, blue and green hexagonal glitter in a clear base. The glitter pieces are fairly small and uniform in size. The colour composition reminds me a lot of OPI Rainbow Connection, but the glitter in 100's and 1000's isn't as dense and not differently shaped. It also dries super smooth, without any roughness or bumps. This is 5 coats (yes, I have a lot of time on my hands). I love the effect but it's not something I'd be rushing to repeat given how much patience is required to get to the final result. As a top coat, I don't think this would be as versatile as All That Glitters, which is why I prefer it layered on its own.

  1. thats so pretty :D i think it would look really good as just an accent nail or glitter tips too. shame it took so many coats to get it that thickness :(

  2. 5 coats! Wow, you really do have a lot of patience! Luckily the end product looks amazing :) I haven't been in Sportsgirl for so long, and now I have a reason to go in! Thanks for sharing.

  3. This looks great! I have Rainbow Connection and love it, but very rarely wear it due to how hard it is to get off!

  4. Your nails look awesome! I only just discovered your blog recently and love how a lot of the products you blog about are readily available in Australia :)

  5. What pink lipstick did you get? I was in Sportsgirl a couple of times last week, and noticed Night Owl and Rosie Posie being cleared out! Disappointed, because I did want to try Rosie Posie at some point! 100's and 1000's seems like an appropriate name- in the photos it looks like you layered it over a nude coloured polish though you didn't.

    1. Yeah I spotted them for $7.95 which isn't exactly a huge discount from their usual $9.95. The one I bought is called Pink Ladies lol. It's basically another bright pink but the formula is sheer so it's a bit more wearable, but I should not have bought it :p I didn't use any base colour or even base coat, but because I did so many layers you couldn't really see the bare nail through all the glitter :)

  6. There was time when I was really tempted to get Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday polish which is very similar to this polish as well as the OPI Rainbow Collection but of course, I realized there are now so many dupes out there I waited out haha. This looks really pretty but too bad it takes 5 coats to get this effect! At least it's worth it though, I love the finish :)

  12. Your nails are so beautiful! I like the look of this, I have a Milani one that is very similar (and the reason I neglected to purchased Rainbow Connection) but it is such a pain that I only wear it every now and then. Still, this is a beautiful look!

    1. Some glitters are a total nightmare to remove but this one literally just peeled right off, probably because I did so many layers :p So ... yay? Lol

  42. Just can't resist the allure of Sportsgirl can you ;) This IS a really pretty polish though. 5 coats is definitely a huge effort (I can only imagine how long it's going to take to remove!), but the end result is lovely. This kind of reminds me of the glitter polishes I used to buy when I was in highschool. That's a good thing :)

  45. I saw this post and was instantly attracted cos Im a huge fan of glitter polishes. The only downside to glitter polishes is that they are so friggin' hard to remove! Dont suppose you recommend a polish that removes glitter with ease??!! LOL

Anyways, feel free to stop my my blog and say hi...would love to see you there
